R16 Construction Update 7/26/16
Pavement removal started this morning. However, the contractor adjusted their plan for pavement removal. Work began this morning at 300th St in the northbound lane. They will remove that lane all the way to Highway 6 and then turn around and remove the southbound lane. Pavement will be removed one lane at a time, and the crushed material will be stockpiled in the other lane. Some grading will be done to the lane with pavement removed, and then the crushed material will be placed as a base for paving. While this work is happening, the road will be impassible in the area where they are working. The contractor will work in areas small enough to continue to provide access to all residents from at least one direction.
For the next few days, residents south of 300th St will not have access to Highway 6. The Seelah Kennel will have access from Highway 6 only. We will continue to provide updates as access conditions change.
