F31 Project Update 7/15/16
Manatt's began stabilizing the roadway with fly ash in Minburn today. Fly ash is a very fine powder-like material that, when mixed with water and soil, stabilizes and strengthens the road. The material is mixed with the old road and then recompacted. During this construction, flaggers will be used to close the road in the vicinity of the stabilization activities. This work should take about 3-4 weeks, depending on weather. When it does rain, local traffic is advised to stay off of the stabilized areas as much as possible. Paving will begin once this phase is complete.
