In 1973, the Dallas County Conservation Board purchased 24.57 acres of land from the George and Myrtle Trindle estate with the land to be used as a public park. A beautiful property, Trindle Park overlooks the city of Van Meter and provides a view for several miles.
There are two open shelters that can be rented for a small fee. No deposit is required.
Trindle Park shelters can be reserved seasonally, May 1 through October 31, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. They may be used in November and in April from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weather permitting, but no reservations will be accepted and the restrooms will remain closed.
